Cristiano Ronaldo playfully taunted his son in a light-hearted moment during Al Nassr’s latest fixture – but it was Cristiano Jr who had the last laugh.

The Portuguese superstar was leading the line against Steven Gerrard‘s Al-Ettifaq when he was handed the opportunity to score from the penalty spot.

In news that will surprise no one, Ronaldo duly converted to put Al Nassr 1-0 up, but it was his celebration that caught the eye.

Running towards the stand, the 39-year-old found his son who was watching on.

Cristiano Jr was in attendance after a brilliant day by his own standards, with the youngster netting twice for Al Nassr under-15s in a 4-0 win over Al Qadsiah.

With that in mind, CR7 couldn’t resist a bit of family banter as he pointed at the youngster.

With a big smile on his face, Ronaldo gestured towards his son and then held up three fingers to suggest that he was going to try and outdo his efforts from earlier in the day.

Despite his best efforts and the fact that Al Nassr ran out 3-0 winners over Al-Ettifaq, the Portuguese superstar was unable to add to his tally.

It meant that Cristiano Jr had the last laugh on a day that showed that the football genes in the family are going strong.

While being Ronaldo’s son has its advantages, the teenager is an extremely talented footballer in his own right.

The 14-year-old currently plays for Al Nassr’s under-15s side where he’s being playing since his dad’s move to Saudi Arabia almost two years ago.

He has played at Real Madrid, Juventus and most recently Manchester United but it remains to be seen whether Ronaldo Jr will end up following in his father's footsteps and forging a career in the game.

That’s not to say that he doesn’t have talent, with a viral video showing Ronaldo Jr showing off some spectacular free-kick-taking technique.

Ronaldo Sr has always remained calm on his son's football ambitions revealing that he has no plans to pressurise him into continuing his legacy in football.

“I will never pressure him. He will do what he wants," said Ronaldo Sr in 2022.

“Also what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they’re happy and that they choose what they want. I will support in any way.”

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner recently passed the 900-goal tally for club and country and expressed his desire to make it 1000 before he retires – a wait that could see him cross paths with his son.

The 39-year-old said: “My son tells me: 'dad, hold on a few more years, I want to play with you'."

There’s only one thing more frightening than seeing Ronaldo lining up for the opposite team and that’s seeing two Ronaldos.
