On October 30th, we covered claims from Spain which stated Real Madrid have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro as a serious option if they can’t sign Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Earlier this month, Porro didn’t shut down the reports linking him to the La Liga side.
Wednesday’s edition of AS has a report on the Tottenham player, titled; ‘Pedro Porro in the spotlight’.
It’s claimed interest between the defender and Los Blancos is ‘mutual’. He’s aware his name has been suggested to replace Dani Carvajal.
Alexander Arnold, whose deal lasts until June 2025, continues to be the priority target for the Champions League winners. The Tottenham fullback is on their agenda, but only as a backup.
AS state Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is posing an ‘obstacle’ for Real Madrid to sign the Spain international, and this is ‘difficult to overcome’. They are well aware after deals for Luka Modrić and Gareth Bale that negotiating with the Spurs supremo isn’t easy.
Porro’s deal lasts until 2028, and the newspaper claims Levy will need at least €70m to sell him. He’s represented by CAA Base who have good ties with the Premier League side, but this won’t help them to convince the chairman to lower the price.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side won’t open talks to sign Porro for this figure. Therefore, it ‘seems impossible’ for them to sign him, despite the mutual interest.
