Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has shared a training ground photo on social media as the club get ready to face Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
The 17-year-old had been enjoying a fantastic break-out campaign with Arsenal before suffering an injury against Brighton on 4 January.
In 12 matches for the Gunners this season, the young Englishman has started two of those, scoring two goals.
Since Nwaneri’s injury, the North London side have managed to win only one game in all competitions and have also seen Gabriel Jesus suffer a serious injury.
Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, was able to confirm the Englishman would be available for team’s clash against Dinamo Zagreb. [Arsenal]
Nwaneri return will be a major boost for Arsenal in Premier League title race
Arteta will likely be very pleased that his wonderkid, Nwaneri, is fit and ready to return after his injury.
Without Bukayo Saka, who has had surgery on his hamstring, and Jesus, Arsenal have struggled offensively.
The Gunners failed to score in a 2-0 Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg loss to Newcastle (7 January), and lost in their FA Cup tie with Man United on penalties (12 January), despite the Red Devils being reduced to 10-men after Diogo Dalot was sent-off.
The 17-year-old Hale End graduate posted on his Instagram story ahead of their Champions League match, and Nwaneri looks ready to go after his period on the sidelines.
Nwaneri’s return is not the only boost that Arteta has received, Riccardo Calafiori is also available for the match against the Croatian champions.
However, despite Nwaneri’s return being a major positive for Arteta, some Arsenal fans are worried that it will mean the Gunners choose to remain inactive in the January transfer window.
In other news, Nottingham Forest may be about to hijack a move for one of Arsenal’s transfer targets this January.
