Everton star could be an 'idea for next summer' – May be more hope than reality

Jarrad Branthwaite could be an option for Juventus next summer, if he is available for a 'reasonable price'.

That's according to Calciomercato.it, who say a move for Branthwaite seems inevitable if Everton can't satisfy his demands.

The Italian club are on the hunt for a new centre-back after the injury to Gleison Bremer and will be entering the market in January to try and resolve the issue.

A move for Branthwaite at that point is unlikely but he is a player they, and plenty of other clubs in Europe, have taken notice of.

He's certainly a prospect for the future and CM.it say a 'sale seems inevitable' if Everton aren't able to show any 'growth prospects' and continue to find themselves 'still in the slums'.

Juventus would only think about a move next summer and would have to push on Branthwaite's desire to leave to obtain a 'reasonable price' when it comes to Everton selling.

In reality, that's  unlikely to happen. Everton are never selling Branthwaite for anything Juventus would consider 'reasonable' because they know what they have.

The Toffees already set their demands when Manchester United showed an interest in the summer and didn't budge when they tried to bring that down so there is no reason for them to do so with Juventus.

Even Branthwaite's will is of little importance, with the impending Friedkin takeover set to help financial matters and the defender signed to a long-term deal anyway. Even CM.it say the financial issues are a thing of the past.

Thus it's hard to see how Branthwaite could be anything more than 'an idea for next summer'.
