TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Arsenal and Tottenham are among a cluster of Premier League clubs who are looking to sign Argentinian starlet Julio Soler.
Soler is currently playing his football with Lanus in the Argentinian Primera Division but is a man in-demand as the January window approaches.
The 19=year-old is already firmly in the plans of the Argentina national team after featuring in the Olympics in 2024.
And now, he is wanted by a host of clubs.
Tottenham and Arsenal among clubs watching Julio Soler as Bournemouth make first move
TBR Football’s chief correspondentGraeme Bailey has been informed that Bournemouth are looking to beat a number of Premier League rivals to the signing of Argentine youth star Julio Soler.
Sources close to the Cherries have confirmed that they have open talks with his club Lanus about a deal.
Lanus are understood to be looking for a deal worth around £15million – including add-ons.
The Cherries have been watching Soler since last season as they look at their long-term options.
They understand that current left-back Milos Kerkez is a man-in-demand and they are open to his departure – but only at the end of the season.
However, they have been doing their homework on best options and they like Soler and are looking at a deal now.
Soler is a player well known in Premier League circles and both Liverpool and Manchester United have watched him closely.
We can also confirm that Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have also watched him in recent months, but Bournemouth have made their move and they hope that will give them the advantage.
Why Julio Soler was left in tears at the Olympics
Despite being selected for the Argentina under-23s, it all turned sour for Soler in the end as Argentina crashed out at the quarter-final stage.
Soler was brought on the quarter-final game against France at half-time after previously playing his part in all the prior matches.
However, after being on the field for just over 30 minutes, Javier Mascherano decided to replace Soler, leaving the young defender in tears as he made his way onto the bench.
In the end, Argentina crashed out to France and Soler was left to lick his wounds after an embarrassing cameo.
A big move to the Premier League, though, would very much help banish those memories.
