TBR Football understand Aston Villa are now in advanced talks to sign Loic Bade from Sevilla in a £30m deal – and also have another transfer in place.

The Villans have already been active in the winter transfer window, after Monchi spent £22m to sign Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund.

Jaden Philogene also left for Ipswich Town in a £21m deal – so it was one in, one out for Unai Emery in the attacking department.

Now, sources have informed TBR Football that Aston Villa are close to bolstering the defensive department through the signings of Loic Bade and Andres Garcia.

Aston Villa advancing in talks to sign Loic Bade from Sevilla

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been told that Aston Villa are in advanced talks to sign the Frenchman from Sevilla.

We understand Aston Villa have agreed a £10m deal with Fenerbahce for the sale of Diego Carlos – which has now enabled the Villans to push on with the signing of Bade.

Sources inform TBR Football that the deal for the Sevilla No.22 is worth around £30m including add-ons, after Monchi opted to give up on trying to bring Oscar Mingueza to Villa Park.

Aston Villa also have a deal in place to sign the aforementioned Garcia from Levante for a sum of £5m – with the Villans hopeful of both transfers being completed before the weekend.

TBR Football understand Liverpool, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Brighton all admire Bade after watching the central defender across the last 12 months – although Aston Villa are now set to win the race.

Loic Bade has (some) Premier League experience

Moving to England will not be a new experience for Bade – as he actually spent some time with Nottingham Forest during the 2022/23 campaign.

Nottingham Forest took the man born in Sevres on loan from Rennes back in September 2022, but terminated the deal just months later in January 2023 after strangely failing to hand him a single competitive appearance.

Bade was only named on the bench once in 11 Premier League games while at the City Ground – before eventually impressing on loan at Sevilla to earn a €12m (£10.2m) move from Rennes permanently.

Monchi actually signed Bade for Sevilla – so the President of Football Operations at Villa Park will have purchased the Frenchman twice in his career once this deal goes through.

Now, Sevilla stand to make a decent profit on that £10.2m investment – with Aston Villa closing in on a £30m deal.
