Exclusive: Celtic respond as Italian & Spanish clubs move for 24-yr-old

Celtic are reluctant to weaken their squad amid interest in winger Luis Palma, sources have told Football Insider.
Clubs in Italy and Spain have enquired about the 24-year-old’s availability this month.
Palma has fallen down the pecking order at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers and has started just twice for the Hoops this term.
Nevertheless, it is believed the Glasgow giants are unwilling to weaken their squad depth by allowing the Honduras international to depart.
Negotiations will continue between potential suitors and Celtic in the weeks to come and it is believed the saga over Palma’s future could run deep into the mid-season window.
The Scottish transfer window slams shut on 3 February.
Palma has made nine appearances across all competitions for Celtic this term but has played just 219 minutes of football.
Celtic don’t want to weaken squad amid Palma enquiries
His only start of the season came in the League Cup as the eventual winners dispatched Falkirk 5-2 at the quarter-final stage.
The 24-year-old joined Celtic from Greek side Aris in August 2023 for a reported fee of around £3.5million.
He has scored 10 goals and notched 10 assists in 45 total appearances for the Parkhead side.
Palma’s contract in Glasgow is set to run until June 2028.
He has played almost every game for the Hoops as a left-winger – a position which has been occupied by Daizen Maeda this term.
In other news, defender “very keen” to secure Parkhead transfer.
