Hull City’s new boss Ruben Selles is eyeing a raid on former club Reading for attacker Harvey Knibbs in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Selles, who left the Royals earlier this month, is keen to improve the Tigers squad he has inherited from Tim Walter.
The Spaniard is a big admirer of the Aston Villa academy graduate, 25, after working with him at the Berkshire club.
Knibbs has been in good form for Reading this season – with seven goals and two assists in 19 games across all competitions.
The League One side are reluctant to lose their versatile attacker, but due to their precarious financial situation they could find it hard to keep hold of their best players when the transfer window reopens next month.
He joined Reading from Cambridge on a free transfer last summer (2023) and became a key man under Selles.

Knibbs hit 16 goals and notched six assists in 53 appearances across all competitions last term and has continued his good form in the 2024-25 campaign.
The attacking midfielder’s contract runs until June 2026.
Selles has picked up one point from his first two games in charge of Hull against Watford and Coventry.
The Tigers sit bottom of the Championship after 21 games, while Reading sit sixth in League One despite their financial difficulties.
