Liverpool have now joined Manchester United and other top Premier League clubs in the battle to sign a precocious talent.

With Michael Edwards now back at Anfield in a new role as CEO of Football – working above Richard Hughes, who has taken his old Director of Football position – the Reds are alive to bargains, as they were when finding Mohamed Salah for £34m and Andrew Robertson for just £8m.

So, which Manchester United target have Liverpool now joined the race to sign? Let’s take a look…

Liverpool want Manchester United target Kevin Zenon

TBR Football understand that Liverpool have now joined the race to sign Kevin Zenon from Boca Juniors.

It is believed that Tottenham and Newcastle are also keen to sign the 23-year-old.

Sources inform TBR Football that Liverpool scouts have been in attendance at recent Boca Junior matches to cast an eye over Zenon, who can play in any position down the left flank.

TBR Football have also been told that the South American is widely expected to leave Boca Juniors in 2025, but despite four Premier League clubs showing interest, the Premier League is not certain to be his destination, with teams in Spain, France and Italy monitoring his situation as well.

Bargain fee

The Argentina U23 international actually has a fixed release clause in his contract, so to secure his signature, a convincing project will have to be presented, rather than simply bidding the highest amount.

Zenon is believed to have a £12.7m release clause written into his Boca Juniors contract, which represents a very affordable fee for Premier League sides.

In fact, Liverpool almost made that much purely from Dominic Solanke’s £65m move to Tottenham during the summer, due to a sell-on clause.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham continue to monitor Zenon.
