Exclusive: Liverpool make Harvey Elliott transfer decision
Today at 08:25 AM
Liverpool are not considering accepting an offer for midfielder Harvey Elliott in January or the summer window despite his lack of first-team action, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds star, 21, is yet to start a Premier League game in the 2024-25 campaign after racking up 27 starts across all competitions last term.
Brighton and German giants Borussia Dortmund have been widely linked with a potential swoop for Elliott as he struggles for game time under Arne Slot at Anfield.
However, Slot remains keen to keep the England Under-21 international on Merseyside – with he and the club still seeing the midfielder as a key part of the Liverpool side for years to come.
Elliott played a big role in the crucial 2-0 win over Brentford on Saturday (18 January), coming off the bench to grab an assist for Darwin Nunez’s second goal.
Liverpool brought the midfielder to Anfield from Fulham in 2019 and he has gone on to make 130 appearances for the club, notching 11 goals and 15 assists.
He missed months with a broken foot at the start of the 2024-25 campaign and has made 11 appearances across all competitions this term, notching one goal and one assist.
Liverpool will not consider selling Elliott amid Brighton and Dortmund interest
Elliott can star in central midfield as well as on both flanks as he continues his development at Liverpool.
His contract at Anfield runs until June 2027 after his most recent extension in August 2022.
Liverpool are on course to win the Premier League title for the second time in six seasons after racking up 50 points in 21 games.
Slot’s side are also going strong in the Champions League and lead the league phase standings ahead of the seventh matchday.
