Kobbie Mainoo’s first priority is to remain at Man United after a standoff in contract negotiations, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old has two and a half years left to run on his deal at Old Trafford and has kicked off talks about a new agreement.
However, Chelsea have been linked with a move for the teenage England international after a breakdown in negotiations.
Sources say there is a “willingness from all parties” to agree a new contract despite talk of a potential Stamford Bridge switch.
Mainoo signed his last extension in February 2023 and United hold the option to extend his deal until June 2028 if neccessary.
The defensive midfielder has made 18 appearances across all competitions this season, starting in 14 of those outings.

Man United sit 13th in the Premier League under new boss Ruben Amorim, who succeeded Ten Hag in November 2024.
The Red Devils have recently agreed a new contract with winger Amad Diallo, keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2030.
