Manchester United's season ticket prices could rise by hundreds of pounds ahead of the club’s move to their new stadium, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League side confirmed earlier this week the majority of their season ticket prices will increase by about 5 per cent for next season after they were previously frozen for 11 years up until 2022.
Although there will be a prize freeze for under-16s tickets, Man United have faced criticism after halving the 50 per cent discount for senior citizens to 25 per cent.
The Athletic reported on 17 March Old Trafford chiefs were initially aiming for a 20 per cent rise before the club's Fans' Advisory Board contributed to them searching for different solutions to better protect season-ticket holders.
Newcastle United and Arsenal have revealed their season ticket prices will also rise by up to 5 per cent, while Liverpool, Tottenham, West Ham and Brentford have frozen their prices for 2025-26.
The latest price hike comes after United have announced plans to build a 100,000-seater stadium as part of the government's regeneration of the Old Trafford area.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has insisted he wants the new stadium, which will cost around £2billion, to be the "world's greatest" and potentially be completed within five years.
Sources have told Football Insider United's ticket prices could increase by 30-40 per cent by the time they make the move from Old Trafford into the new facility, with fans facing the prospect of paying hundreds more each year for their season tickets.
Jim Ratcliffe slammed after Man United cuts
Ratcliffe has faced intense scrutiny over the past few months following his cost-cutting measures and the ticket price hike for the remainder of this season.
United announced in November they were raising the cost of tickets for members to £66 and removing concession prices until the end of the campaign.
Those tickets previously started at £40 for adults and £25 for children.
Football Insider revealed on 13 December Premier League ticket prices are set to skyrocket over the coming years as clubs aim to boost their matchday revenue.

Jim Ratcliffe could make Man United takeover demand after new stadium update
Ratcliffe is considering options for financing the new stadium development after taking control of the footballing operations at Old Trafford in February last year.
The Manchester giants' existing debt currently stands at around £1billion after they have faced financial challenges in recent years.
Football Insider revealed on 13 February Ratcliffe could demand more United shares to help fund the new stadium project.
The INEOS chief owns a 28.9 per cent stake in the club, while the Glazers have recently seen their shareholding diluted to 48.9 per cent.
