Arsenal currently own some of the best talents in Europe – and Edu Gaspar is now trying to beat Real Madrid to another.

In the likes of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, Mikel Arteta has two young superstars on his hands, with the precocious Ethan Nwaneri looking set to be the next wonderkid to emerge.

Now – however – TBR Football have been told that Arsenal want another top prospect at the Emirates Stadium…

Arsenal vying with Real Madrid to sign Franco Mastantuono

TBR Football understand that Arsenal are keen to sign Franco Mastantuono from River Plate – and have been keeping a close eye on the Argentinian gem.

However, Real Madrid have already opened talks to sign the South American prodigy – with Manchester City also showing strong interest.

Furthermore, sources inform TBR Football that Chelsea have been frequently scouting Mastantuono along with Arsenal, so the Gunners certainly have competition in this particular transfer battle, with Barcelona keen as well.

However, it is understood that the 17-year-old attacking midfielder would prefer to join Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants currently considered favourites to secure his signature.

Los Blancos have already hoovered up some of the best talents on the planet – such as Endrick and Arda Guler – in recent times, with Mastantuono, who is valued at £47m, now on the list.

Gunners still have a chance

As aforesaid, Real Madrid already have plenty of top talents, especially in the attacking midfield department where Jude Bellingham, Guler and Federico Valverde all like to operate.

Therefore, Arsenal – who have much less competition for places in that area – could tempt Mastantuono to join with the promise of more regular playing time, in our view at least.

The teenager – who has been described as the new Phil Foden – would surely be waiting years for a starting role at the Santiago Bernabeu, so if Arteta and Edu can show him a clear pathway into the team at Arsenal, he could well opt for north London over Madrid.
