TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Real Madrid are interested in signing Kyle Walker on loan this month.

Pep Guardiola confirmed Walker’s desire to leave after Manchester City mauled Salford City 8-0 in the Third Round of the FA Cup, with the Catalan confirming his sights are set on playing “abroad.”

TBR Football has previously reported that Manchester City are prepared to sell Walker while the Premier League winners are also ready to bid farewell to another one of their defensive stalwarts in John Stones.

Real Madrid now want to sign Kyle Walker on loan

TBR Football’s chief correspondentGraeme Bailey has been informed that Real Madrid have expressed an interest in signing Walker on loan this January to provide cover for the injured Dani Carvajal.

Real Madrid’s longstanding interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold means they are targeting his addition to their squad in the summer. But this January, Los Blancos wish to lend Carlo Ancelotti a helping hand, which could be in the form of the 34-year-old.

Whether Manchester City would be open to Walker, who has 18 months left on his contract heading out on loan or insist or a sale remains to be seen.

TBR Football understands that apart from the Saudi Pro League, who are interested in swooping in for the six-time Premier League winner, AC Milan have also held talks to sign him.

Neymar named Walker as his toughest opponent, which goes to show how tremendous he has been since joining Manchester City in 2017.

But all good things come to an end, as looks to be the case with the veteran’s spell in a City shirt, with several players targeted to replace him.

Which Kyle Walker replacements do Man City have in mind?

A week ago, TBR Football stated Manchester City are keen on Juventus’ Nicolo Savona as they feel the 21-year-old would be tailor-made to play in Pep Guardiola’s system as he can also play as a centre-back.

The Sky Blues view the Italian as a centre-back in their setup, similar to the role Walker has often played on the right of a back three when his side have possession.

Jeremie Frimpong is on Manchester City’s radar as well, who they are closely monitoring as well.

Omar El Hilali has been identified to replace Walker as well.

Manchester City have a difficult task on their hands to find a successor to the former Tottenham Hotspur right-back, who is one of their greatest-ever players and one of the most consistent during the Pep Guardiola era.
