Exclusive: What Brentford sources are now saying about Yoane Wissa as Arsenal and Nottingham Forest lurk
Today at 07:30 AM
TBR Football have now received information from Brentford sources on Yoane Wissa – amid rumours Arsenal and Nottingham Forest are lurking.
The DR Congo has been immense so far this season, scoring 11 goals in 18 Premier League appearances while also providing two assists – his latest strike even saw him become Brentford’s record goalscorer in the Premier League with 37 goals, surpassing Ivan Toney.
There are now rumours that Arsenal are considering a move for Wissa after Mikel Arteta lost both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus to serious injuries – with Nottingham Forest also keen.
Now, sources close to Brentford have provided TBR Football with further information on the situation.
Brentford have no intention of selling Yoane Wissa
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been informed that Brentford have no intention whatsoever of selling Wissa before the February 3rd transfer deadline.
The 28-year-old only has 18 months remaining on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, which expires in June 2026, but the Bees are showing no desire to cash in during the winter transfer window.
Brentford sources add that the same goes for Bryan Mbeumo – another forward attracting interest from Premier League rivals after scoring 13 goals in 21 appearances so far this season.
Brentford keen to sign Kieran Tierney from Arsenal
Not only do Arsenal admire Wissa, but TBR Football understand Brentford are fans of a player over at the Emirates Stadium as well.
Sources state that Brentford like Kieran Tierney – as do West Ham and Leicester – although the Scotland international is keen on a return to Celtic as he prepares to depart Arsenal.
There has – however – been no suggestion at all that the Arsenal No.3 could be used in any deal to bring Wissa to N5 this month, with Brentford sources insistent that the man born in Epinay-sous-Senart is going nowhere.
