Manchester United have endured a torrid start to the Premier League season.

As such, Erik ten Hag has been replaced by Ruben Amorim, who is set to take charge of his first game against Ipswich Town after the international break.

The Portuguese head coach takes over a Man United side that has a number of underperforming big earners, including some of the summer signings.

One of those being £36m acquisition Joshua Zirkzee, who’s netted just one goal in 17 outings so far for the Red Devils.

Now, TBR Football can exclusively reveal what United are planning to do with the Dutchman amid interest from Serie A.

Ruben Amorim set to give Joshua Zirkzee a chance

TBR Football understands that a number of Italian clubs have registered an interest with Joshua Zirkzee’s representatives, should he be made available this January but they have been told that as it stands he has no plans to to leave Manchester United.

Zirkzee, who arrived in England in the summer from Bologna, has been linked with a return to Serie A after a less-than-spectacular start to life in the Premier League.

However, as it stands Zirkzee and United are not thinking about life away from Old Trafford.

Amorim is set to give all his squad a chance to stake a claim in his plans and that very much includes Zirkzee – who TBR Football is told is confident he is still destined for a successful United career.

Juventus keen on Zirkzee

Zirkzee’s Italian admirers, which include Juventus where his former boss Thiago Motta is in charge, have made it clear that they would be interested in a possible loan – but as it stands, that is not the case.

TBR Football is told, though, that if Zirkzee does not feature prominently in the next six weeks, then the player’s representatives will assess the situation again.

The 23-year-old hasn’t started a league game since United’s 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in September.
