TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Real Madrid are ready to make an official offer for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the coming days.
Alexander-Arnold has been linked to Madrid for months at this point, and his close friendship with Jude Bellingham has been highly-publicised.
The right-back's contract is up in the summer, and with less then six months to run on his deal, he's allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.
Alexander-Arnold has been hailed for his performances this season.
Madrid are now ready to make their move, and an official offer is about to land.
Real Madrid have been struggling for a right-back as of late after Dani Carvajal's season-ending injury, and Alexander-Arnold could arrive next summer as a replacement for the Spaniard.
Real Madrid are set to make Trent Alexander-Arnold offer
TBR Football's chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Real Madrid will make an official offer to Trent Alexander-Arnold in the coming days with a view to agreeing a pre-contract to move to the Spanish capital.
Indeed, TBR Football is told that Real Madrid remain hopeful that Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies will both agree deals in the coming weeks.
Liverpool had rebuffed an approach from Real this week as president Florentino Perez floated the idea of a permanent deal in January and they would have been willing to pay around £20m – but Liverpool owners FSG had no interest in allowing Alexander-Arnold to leave this month.
We can reveal that Perez made his move after his most trusted aide and the club’s chief scout Juni Calafat gave his approval to the deal in late December.
We understand Calafat had been doing detailed background checks on Alexander-Arnold, as he does with all major deals, and he gave his approval for Perez to make the move.
Alexander-Arnold is yet to officially confirm to Liverpool what his intentions are in regards to his future, but a decision could come very soon with Real confident that the player is ready to commit to them.
TBR Football had been told that suitors such as Bayern and Barcelona, both of whom are confirmed admirers of Alexander-Arnold, are yet to make their move as they have been given little encouragement to do so in recent weeks.
Calafat has also done his checks on Bayern Munich star Davies, and they hope to be able to finalise a deal with him in the coming weeks.
Madrid have been working on Davies for more than 12-months, but the Canadian is yet to make a decision on his future. Bayern, like Liverpool with Alexander-Arnold, are hoping to agree fresh terms whilst as TBR Football revealed there is strong Premier League interest too.
Real Madrid interested in other Premier League stars
Alexander-Arnold is Real Madrid's number one target at right-back, but they have also been linked with other players in this position.
Pedro Porro is on Real Madrid's radar as another option should their move for Alexander-Arnold fail, while Madrid have also been keen on another Tottenham defender.
Indeed, Cristian Romero has been linked to Real Madrid recently too, and Los Blancos could well end up raiding the Premier League in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid sent scouts to watch William Saliba recently, so Arsenal could also lose one of their star players to the Spanish giants.
Madrid have been a constant thorn in the side of top Premier League outfits, snatching star players such as Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Antonio Rudiger, Eden Hazard and Xabi Alonso in recent memory, and they may well end up taking a few more of the Premier League's biggest names in the near future.
