Exclusive: Wrexham plotting to sign Luton Town star Cauley Woodrow

Wrexham have set their sights on signing Luton Town forward Cauley Woodrow this month, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Dragons are aiming to bring in two new attackers this month and Woodrow figures highly on their wanted list as they look to boost their bid for promotion from League One.
The ex-Premier League striker, 30, has struggled for regular game time at Luton this season, making just one start in 12 Championship outings.
It remains to be seen if Luton would be open to selling Woodrow this month with the club battling to steer clear of trouble at the wrong end of the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Woodrow started his career at Luton before moving on to Premier League side Fulham, and then to Barnsley, the former England Under-21 international has made 74 appearances in all competition for the Hatters since he re-joined the club in 2022.
With Woodrow potentially making the move to Wales, he would be joining a Wrexham side who sit only two points behind League One leaders Wycombe Wanderers.
It has been an excellent season for the team owned by Hollywood stars, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The Red Dragons have flown up the divisions since the takeover in November 2020. The club achieved their first promotion from the National League in the 2022/23 season and followed that up with a second placed finish to take them up from League 2.
Paul Mullin, Wrexham’s top scorer last season, has struggled for goals this year, only finding the back of the net twice in 22 games and Phil Parkinson’s side are in need of more firepower.
Luton are also in desperate need of a clinical goalscorer as a run of four losses in their last five games have put them 20th in the Championship table, only three points ahead of the relegation zone.
In other news, Luton Town have recently been linked with a move for Wycombe Wanderer’s star midfielder.
