"Few doubts" about signing Wolves player – Club push, need to convince him

Feyenoord have "few doubts" about signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno and just need to convince him of the move this summer.

That's according to journalist Sam Planting at Voetbal International, relayed by Feyenoord Pings, who says the Dutch side are convinced about getting Bueno in.

Feyenoord have been linked with a move for Bueno over the last week, with their initial interest first reported last week before it was then explained that they were hoping to get a deal done this week.

Those reports explained that they see Bueno as an ideal short-term solution for something of a problem in their left-back and left-wing-back position and were hoping that Wolves would sanction a move this summer.

Their belief was that Wolves might do so as they have Rayan Aït-Nouri in their squad already, and he limited Bueno's playing time last season under Gary O'Neil.

The fact that they were hoping to get a deal done this week indicated that there is a belief that there is a deal to be done and Planting reports it's a case of convince Bueno to leave Wolves temporarily.

“Aït-Nouri will ensure that Bueno has to get more flying hours somewhere outside of Wolverhampton this summer," Feyenoord Pings quote him as saying.

“The Algerian wingback played a particularly dominant 2023/24, which is why it was expected that he would make a transfer to a top English club. Now that Aït-Nouri seems to be staying with Wolves, it makes little sense for Bueno to act as a back-up for another year.

“After all, the Spaniard mainly needs extra flying hours, to get more daring and decisiveness in his game. If those flying hours in Rotterdam turn out to be available to him, Bueno could well become a hit in the Feyenoord shirt. Because there is little doubt about his intrinsic qualities.”
