Chelsea ace Tosin Adarabioyo has been on the receiving end of a vicious barb from his former club after Fulham shared a series of images of the defender on social media.
The 27-year-old left Fulham as a free agent at the end of last season before ultimately joining West London rivals Chelsea weeks later.
Marco Silva’s side earned an unexpected smash-and-grab 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day (December 26), their first in 45 years, thanks to late goals from Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz.
Talismanic playmaker Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a brilliant solo goal but Chelsea were unable to make their lead count.
Chelsea have fallen seven points behind league leaders Liverpool after the defeat to Fulham, and risk slipping into third should Arsenal beat Ipswich on Friday (December 27).
No love lost between Fulham and Tosin Adarabioyo after Chelsea victory
The centre-back is yet to establish himself as a key player under Enzo Maresca, starting 13 of his 15 games across all competitions, scoring one goal, and providing zero assists in his 1163 minutes of action.
Adarabioyo made his Fulham debut in a defeat to Chelsea in 2016 and said “If you can’t beat them, join them,” in his first interview with the club’s in-house media team after signing for Enzo Maresca’s side.
Fulham couldn’t wait to poke some fun at their former player, taking to TikTok to share a series of images of the defender, captioning the post: “If you can’t beat them, join them,” in reference to his interview.
Chelsea are winless in their last two Premier League games as they travel to Ipswich in their last game of 2024 on Monday (December 30).
Fulham will host fellow high-flyers Bournemouth on Sunday (December 29) knowing that a win could take them within touching distance of the top four spots.
