Arne Slot has helped a number of players improve since he became the Liverpool manager.

The Dutchman was tasked with the responsibility of filling Jurgen Klopp’s shoes at Anfield. After seeing how Unai Emery and David Moyes struggled when they replaced Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson, many people feared the worst for Slot.

However, the 46-year-old has exceeded all expectations and has made Liverpool the absolute favourites to win the Premier League title.

The Reds boss has now had his say on one of his key players.

Arne Slot wants Trent Alexander-Arnold to be more consistent

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been in the headlines a lot recently.

The Englishman’s future is up in the air having entered the final six months of his contract. There is a real possibility that he will leave.

Real Madrid are pushing to sign Alexander-Arnold, but as things stand, he is set to remain a Liverpool player until the end of the season.

Slot was quizzed about Alexander-Arnold in his press conference and the Dutchman claimed that his defending has actually gone up a level this season. However, he has urged the right-back to be more consistent.

He said, as per Liverpool’s official website: “Trent can still improve, I think I saw a bit of improvement already this season.

“These players are top of the world, so there’s not a lot of room for improvement anymore, but there’s always a bit of improvement. Especially defensively, Trent, in my opinion, has made a step up this season.

“I think in some games he was outstanding in every part of the game, but there’s sometimes been a bit of up and down as well, in other games he could’ve done a bit better. So, it’s about consistency for top players and that is maybe where the biggest improvement for Trent is.”

The latest on Real Madrid and Trent Alexander-Arnold

Alexander-Arnold is entering the peak years of his career.

The 26-year-old is already one of the best players in the world, and we expect him to go up to another level in the coming years.

Liverpool would love to keep hold of Alexander-Arnold, but with less than six months left on his contract, it is looking more and more likely that he will leave.

TBR Football exclusively revealed that Real Madrid will make an offer to sign Alexander-Arnold in the coming days with a view to agreeing a pre-contract to move to the Spanish capital.

The defender has not communicated his desire to leave Liverpool yet, which gives the Reds some hope, but Madrid are really keen to get him and are prepared to make their move very, very soon.
