Liverpool's biggest issue behind the scenes at the moment is undoubtedly their contract situations.
Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all into the final year of their contracts, and there's some genuine fear that any of these three players could leave.
Alexander-Arnold is being courted by Real Madrid at the moment, while Mohamed Salah has long been a target for the Saudi Pro League.
However, there is some good news on the contract front.
Indeed, according to James Pearce, speaking on the Walk On Podcast, Ibrahima Konate should sign a new Liverpool contract soon as he is very happy at the club.
This comes not long after Kylian Mbappe called Konate a 'super' player.
Ibrahima Konate should sign a new contract soon
Pearce shared what he knows about Konate's situation.
The journalist says that there should be no problems with Konate's new contract, claiming that he's very happy where he is at the moment.
"We know that there’s obviously a lot of talk about contracts at the minute. We know that Konate has been in talks with the club about an extension. I don’t think that there’ll be any problems on that front. I think he’s very happy where he is for Liverpool and it’s an absolute no-brainer to get him tied down for the best years of his career," Pearce said.
What about Liverpool's other contracts?
Konate potentially signing a new deal is great news, but what about the big three, Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold?
Van Dijk has recently suggested that his contract talks are going well, while according to Fabrizio Romano, Trent Alexander-Arnold's priority is to stay at Liverpool if they can prove they're capable of challenging for the biggest trophies.
Mohamed Salah's situation remains up in the air, but according to Romano, Salah is indeed happy with Liverpool.
Of course, there's going to be plenty of anxiety around Anfield until these three players all sign new contracts, but it perhaps isn't as doom and gloom as it looks from the outside.
Liverpool might just be able to keep hold of their three key players as Arne Slot continues to prove that the Reds are still up there with the best teams in the world.
