Mohamed Salah was perhaps the defining player of the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool.

Salah won three Premier League Golden Boots under Jurgen Klopp, as well as two PFA Player of the Year Awards.

It's fair to say that Salah was one of Klopp's most important players at Anfield, but, towards the end of Klopp's time at Liverpool, this relationship appeared to turn somewhat sour.

Salah and Klopp had a bit of a bust-up during a game against West Ham last season, and while Salah and Klopp didn't fully fall out, tensions were strained.

Now, speaking to Sky Sports, Salah has been discussing his relationship with Klopp since he left Anfield, and he says that their relationship has actually changed for the better.

Indeed, the winger says that he actually texts Klopp now more than he ever has before.

Mohamed Salah texts Jurgen Klopp more than ever before

Salah spoke about his relationship with his former manager.

The attacker says that he still texts Klopp every so often, noting that he hears more from Klopp now over the phone than he ever did during his time as Liverpool manager.

"How are things with you and Jurgen now?" Salah was asked.

"Yeah, it's fine, we text from time to time. We text more now in the last three months than we have in the last seven years. Honestly, we've text more in the last three months than we have in the last seven years, I promise," Salah said.

It's great to hear that Salah and Klopp are on better terms now. After all, they achieved so much together at Anfield.

Indeed, it would be a massive shame if Salah and Klopp didn't have a close relationship after their incredible journey together at Liverpool.

Salah's stats under Klopp just go to show how brilliant these two were for one another.

Salah was Klopp's most important player at Liverpool for a long time, and while things did get a bit techy between these two last season, it seems as though the hatchet has been well and truly buried and that Klopp and Salah are closer than they perhaps ever have been.

Who knows? With Salah's contract up in the summer and Klopp now working for the Red Bull stable of clubs, perhaps a reunion could eventually be on the cards between Salah and Klopp at some point.

Salah’s contract talks are going well, so that is unlikely, but maybe, just maybe, that is something to keep in mind.
