How to watch Liverpool vs Lille for FREE as Reds look to secure place in Champions League last 16
Today at 11:27 AM
Liverpool can secure a place in the Champions League knockout stages against Lille at Anfield on Tuesday evening.
The Reds have won all six of their European games so far this season, as Arne Slot's side sit three points clear at the top of the table.
It leaves them needing just a point to secure automatic qualification to the last 16 while a win could potentially seal top spot for them depending on Barcelona's result.
Things won't be easy against their French opposition though, as they're also gunning for an automatic place having won four of their last five in Europe.

- Liverpool and Lille's only previous meetings in Europe came back in the 2009-10 UEFA Europa League, with the Reds progressing from the Last 16 with a 3-1 aggregate victory (lost 0-1 away and won 3-0 at home).
- Only two French sides have ever won away to Liverpool in major European competition (Marseille in 2007 and Lyon in 2009), with 12 of their 15 combined trips ending in defeat (D1). Indeed, the only side to keep a clean sheet there from the 15 attempts was Marseille in their 2007 victory (1-0).
- Liverpool have won each of their last 10 group/league phase games at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League, scoring 22 goals and only conceding three times. The last team to avoid defeat or keep a clean sheet there in the group/league phase was Atalanta back in November 2020 (a 2-0 win).
Liverpool vs Lille: Team news
Liverpool aren't expected to rotate despite the recent busy schedule considering they are so close to securing a knockout stage place.
Slot will likely start with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and co from the off, with early substitutions expected should the game be all but won.
Joe Gomez will remain sidelined through injury while Diogo Jota missed the win over Brentford at the weekend, meaning Darwin Nunez should start.
One change from that clash could be Curtis Jones coming in for Dominik Szoboszlai.
As for Lille, Jonathan David will be leading the line looking to build on his four goals in five Champions League starts this campaign.
Ex-Newcastle midfielder Remy Cabella could feature with Edon Zhegovra a doubt while former PSG and Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier will be at right back.
- Liverpool have won all six of their UEFA Champions League games this season, including the last five without conceding a single goal. They could become just the second team in European Cup/Champions League history to win six in a row and keep a clean sheet in each, after Leeds United in 1969-70 (6).
- Lille are unbeaten in their last five matches in the UEFA Champions League (W4 D1), their longest run ever in the competition. Indeed, the only side on a longer current unbeaten streak in the competition are their opponents Liverpool (6).
- Mohamed Salah has already assisted four goals for Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League this season; the joint-most by any player in 2024-25. If he provides an assist in this game, he will equal Samuel Eto'o from 2010-11 for the most assists by an African player in a single edition of the tournament (5).
Liverpool vs Lille: What has been said?
Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney is concerned that Salah doesn't look very interested when playing for Liverpool.
Speaking after Salah headed straight down the tunnel despite a late win over Brentford, Deeney said on talkSPORT: “Notably, Salah is the first one off the pitch.
“Something’s up with that fella today. Whether it’s something with Saudi, whether there’s a move, but he’s not been at the races today.
“Him going down the tunnel first, even though 95 per cent of the team is over there celebrating, says a lot to me.”
“He doesn’t look interested,” Deeney continued. "He’s standing on the touchline and if he sprints inside, he’s one-on-one every time. But he doesn’t look like he wants to.
“I’d be really disappointed if I was a Liverpool fan.”
