Former Chelsea and West Ham United player Scott Minto has dropped his prediction ahead of tomorrow’s lunchtime clash in the Premier League.

West Ham United are yet to really find their feet under Julen Lopetegui with one win, two draws and a loss in their opening four games.

However, there’s nothing embarrassing about your only loss coming against Manchester City as Erling Haaland’s hat-trick sunk the Hammers.

Chelsea dropped two points against Crystal Palace recently but other than that they looked really impressive against Wolves and managed to scrape a win at Bournemouth last time out.

Anything can happen in a derby with all the recent form out the window.

Interestingly, Scott Minto has provided his prediction ahead of the encounter…

Scott Minto makes his West Ham vs Chelsea prediction

Scott Minto played 70 times for Chelsea and 62 times for West Ham United, so this is really a win-win game for him, unless it’s a draw of course.

He struggled to pick a team to win due to his allegiances when speaking on the Premier League All Access podcast by TalkSPORT.

“The atmosphere, I can tell you, is going to be absolutely amazing, because the new generation of West Ham fans see Chelsea as the big rivals, more so than Spurs.

“So it’s going to be generated fantastically. I mean, don’t ask me to think who I think is going to win just because of the unpredictability.

“The bottom line is, it’s who can turn up on the day. And you know, it was West Ham’s worst performance of the season so far.

“Be it already being a short one against Fulham. And you can argue there were some changes there, and people were traveling of the International break, and we certainly saw that Liverpool being that, that the biggest example of that.

“But I think JLo, as the fans want to call him, they want the fans have, they’ve spent a lot, lot of money. They spent good money.

“Where did I whether I think West Ham should finish at the end of the season? I think they should be going for a European place.

“Where do I think Chelsea should be finishing? They have to be aiming for that fourth spot.”

What has Scott Minto said about Frank Lampard?

Interestingly, Scott Minto has described what it was like to be alongside Frank Lampard at West Ham before he sealed an £11 million move to Chelsea.

He revealed that he didn’t actually think he would become a superstar when watching him in training.

"I was really surprised when I joined West Ham. He was a youngster coming into the first team. You could see that he would be a premier league player.

"I didn't see that he'd be the world class superstar he ended up becoming. But perhaps he didn't see that either. But I did see a Lampard, you know, one of their own."
