"I hope he wins Ballon d'Or" – La Liga manager backs Manchester City star for success

Getafe manager José Bordalás has told the Spanish media that he hopes Manchester City midfielder Rodri goes on to win the Ballon d’Or.
The Spanish international could miss the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury during his side's draw with Arsenal.
AS have covered comments made by Bordalás in his pre-match press conference ahead of Getafe's clash with Barcelona tomorrow evening. Initially asked about Barcelona not having Marc-André ter Stegen due to a serious injury, the Getafe coach went on to comment about Rodri.
The 60-year-old said it was a shame the Manchester City player had picked up an injury after showing such good form in recent seasons and Bordalás hopes he is voted the world’s best player for 2024.
"Also, Rodri, a spectacular player and hopefully they will give him the Ballon d’Or. He’s having incredible seasons and it’s a shame for that injury," said the Getafe boss.
Rodri's layoff will come as a huge blow to Manchester City and their ambitions for this season. The 28-year-old has become an influential figure in City's side since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2019 and has been a key player in their success in recent years.
Only days ago, the Spaniard questioned whether players were playing too many games and said they risked injury due to this.
