'I'm Hearing...' - Keith Wyness drops Lopetegui-West Ham verdict

Everton's former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Julen Lopetegui is not capable of turning things around at West Ham.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed he is hearing of “lots of distress” in the Irons squad and also claimed the “fans are not having him”.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (30 December) that Lopetegui is under growing sack pressure at West Ham after the 5-0 home drubbing against Liverpool.
It is understood Irons chiefs will demand an improvement in performances and style – even if they will not come close to a relegation fight this term – or will be prepared to relieve him of his duties.
West Ham sit 13th in the Premier League table – eight points above the drop zone with 19 games left of this term.
Lopetegui only arrived at the London Stadium in the off-season and is under contract until June 2026.

Wyness told Football Insider's Insider Track podcast: "West Ham aren't really in danger of falling to the relegation group.
"There is time and the luxury for the board to make the right decision. They've obviously abandoned hope of climbing into the European spots this season.
"They're in no real rush to make this decision, because they got this appointment wrong.
"I don't think I can see any sign of Lopetegui turning it around.
"I'm hearing a lot of distress in the squad, and the fans aren't having him.
"I don't think it'll be a case of 'win the next one or you're sacked', but the board will be hard at work to find the right man."
