Manchester United go into another tough Premier League fixture this weekend at West Ham knowing the pressure is on once more to produce in the league.

Another poor draw in the Europa League this week has increased the pressure on Erik ten Hag yet again despite sneaking past Brentford last weekend.

For Ten Hag, it seems to be the recurring theme for his time as United boss. That means that once more, fans are looking for a win or there’ll be yet more calls for INEOS to make a change.

Going to West Ham is always tough but the Hammers are struggling themselves under Julen Lopetegui.

However, according to Alan Shearer, the Hammers might still have enough in the locker to see off an inconsistent United side.

Alan Shearer predicts the result of West Ham v Manchester United

Making his predictions for all the Premier League fixtures for The Metro, Shearer discussed the West Ham v Manchester United fixture.

And in doing so, Shearer believes that this could be another tough day at the office for Erik ten Hag.

“This is tough to predict because of the unpredictability of Man United. Can they kick on and get another result like last weekend? I suspect not. The pressure may be right back on them this weekend,” Shearer said.

“West Ham, with the atmosphere at the London Stadium may have enough to take the points on Sunday just as they did in their last home game against Manchester United last season.

“I am going to pick West Ham to win.”

Man United v West Ham could do either way

There is so much inconsistency among both teams here that this really is a case of which set of players turn up on the day.

West Ham could very easily do the business and cause United problems but by the same token, Manchester United are more than capable on their day of beating anyone.

This feels like a must win game for both teams really.

West Ham fans are already becoming a bit tired of Lopetegui, while Ten Hag has his near constant critics at Old Trafford.

This weekend, then, the result could very much end up being anything!
