Liverpool made it four Champions League wins in a row on Tuesday night as they ran out 4-0 winners over Bayer Leverkusen at Anfield.

Luis Diaz scored a hat-trick for Arne Slot’s Reds and Cody Gakpo also got on the scoresheet as Mohamed Salah notched up two assists on the night.

While Diaz picked up the match ball for his “sensational” efforts, Stephen Warnock was eager to praise another Liverpool player he felt went under the radar somewhat.

Stephen Warnock hails ‘really good’ Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher

The player in question is Caoimhin Kelleher, who kept a clean sheet for the Reds and once again showed why he’s deemed one of the best second-choice goalkeepers in the world.

Warnock told BBC Radio 5 Live that, while “we often talk about Alisson”, Kelleher also deserves praise for his “top form” covering for the Brazil international.

“Really good contributions from Caoimhin Kelleher tonight,” said the former Liverpool man.

“We often talk about Alisson and his saves keeping Liverpool in games and securing clean sheets but Kelleher has been in top form this season.”

How Kelleher was rated by the media

The Liverpool Echo gave Kelleher a 7 out of 10 and wrote: “Didn't have a save of note to make until fine double stop late on to deny Schick and then Wirtz. Cold a bigger threat to the Irishman.”

Liverpool.com also went with a 7 out of 10 for the £32,000-a-week ace, writing: “The goalkeeper didn’t have too much to do at the back but what he did do was solid enough.

“On his first Champions League appearance at Anfield with fans, he kept a clean sheet. Made a good stop from Patrick Schick near the end.”

Finally, Goal.com gave Kelleher a 6 out of 10 and wrote: “Made a couple of good saves late on but otherwise didn’t have too much to do.”
