Arsenal face Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday, and they head into this game with a handful of issues.

Indeed, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all out injured at the moment, while there's a question mark over David Raya as well.

Raya picked up a knock against Manchester City last week, which led to 16-year-old Jack Porter starting in the Carabao Cup.

Mikel Arteta was very coy about Raya's status after that game, saying:

“We don't know yet. He's got a muscular injury so we need to check.”

Unfortunately, it sounds as though Raya's situation is serious enough to keep him out of action for this weekend's game against The Foxes.

David Raya unlikely to play against Leicester

According to Arsenal insider, Team News and Ticks, writing on his Patreon page, Raya is unlikely to play against Leicester.

The reporter says that as of 6pm on Friday evening, a final decision hadn't been made on Raya, but the view was that the £30m man was more than likely going to miss out in this game.

Raya has, of course, been brilliant for Arsenal this season and he recently earned plaudits for an incredible double save against Atalanta.

Luckily for Arsenal, this injury has come at a point that may not be too detrimental.

Arsenal shouldn't miss David Raya

Arsenal are potentially going to be without David Raya for the Leicester game, but that may not be the end of the world.

Indeed, if there's any team that Arsenal could live without their goalkeeper against, it's Leicester.

The Foxes aren't exactly the most potent attacking outfit in the Premier League, and with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba both still fit and firing, you'd still back the Gunners to keep a clean sheet here, especially at home.

Injuries are never ideal, but if Raya was to miss any game this season, a match at the Emirates against Leicester is a game that Arsenal should still be able to win without their number one.
