Southampton haven’t adjusted to life in the Premier League following their play-off promotion from the Championship.

Russell Martin’s side are winless in their opening seven games and reside second bottom on just one point.

That’s put Martin under huge pressure at Southampton and TBR Football revealed last week that if his side lose to Leicester this weekend, he could be dismissed.

That said, if Southampton are to have any real chance of avoiding relegation this season, it’s obvious what they must do if Manchester United come calling for their star player Tyler Dibling in Janaury.

Southampton must keep Tyler Dibling amid Man United interest

Southampton are one of the favourites to go down but if they are to stay up, they’ll likely be spearheaded by Tyler Dibling’s brilliance.

The 18-year-old wide player is enjoying a terrific breakthrough season and is earning glowing plaudits from the media.

In fact, Premier League clubs are already starting to take note of his supreme talent ahead of the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are showing an interest in Dibling having been impressed by his performances.

It’s become clear that Southampton must rebuff interest in their teenage wonderkid, or else, they’ll be near certs to drop back down the Championship.

Russell Martin labelled Dibling a ‘beautiful footballer’

Speaking in August, Russell Martin waxed lyrical about Dibling and labelled him a ‘beautiful footballer’.

“He is a beautiful footballer, a really outstanding talent,” The Saints boss said, via Sky Sports.

“He’s powerful. He possesses stuff that not every player possesses.”

After the Ipswich game last month, he added: “I love working with him. I love watching him play. I’d pay a lot of money to watch him play football.”

Evidently, Southampton have a supreme talent on their hands and if they nurture him carefully, he could genuinely be the difference between relegation and survival.
