Joao Felix to Aston Villa: 'Major Chelsea exit update emerges'

Chelsea attacker Joao Felix’s stance over a potential move to Aston Villa has emerged, via a report from the Guardian.
The 25-year-old returned to Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis from Atletico Madrid in last summer’s transfer window but has struggled for game time since making that move.
As a result it has been claimed that Felix is unhappy with his situation in Enzo Maresca’s side, amid interest from Aston Villa.
However, this latest update has suggested that a move to Villa Park is currently unlikely for the Portuguese forward.
It is thought that Felix would need to be to be convinced about a move to join Unai Emery’s side – who are currently eighth in the Premier League – in the current transfer window.
Indeed, if the striker is to depart Stamford Bridge before the window closes he is apparently unlikely to remain in the top-flight of English football.

There is plenty of speculation around the current forward options available to Unai Emery at Villa Park at the minute.
Jhon Duran is being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, while Aston Villa have apparently rejected a bid from Arsenal for Ollie Watkins (Daily Mail).
Amid that uncertainty the extra attacking firepower that Felix would bring if they had signed him from Chelsea would surely have been a boost.
It now though seems unlikely they will get that, and there may be some surprise the 25-year-old is unconvinced by a move to Villa Park.
With a strong position in the Premier League and through to the Champions League knockout stages, a move to Aston Villa could have been a tempting one, especially given his lack of game time at Chelsea.
Whether or not they can move him out could also have a knock-on effect for Maresca and co. given the emphasis there appears to be on adding to their own squad before the window closes.
