Morgan Gibbs-White's latest post drew plenty of reactions from fellow players such as Jude Bellingham and Anthony Elanga, as an update is provided over his England omission.

Thomas Tuchel named his first England squad as manager for the World Cup qualifiers last Friday (14 March) which had already caused debate among supporters and pundits.

Tuchel came under fire from Nottingham Forest fans after Gibbs-White was left out of the list, whilst including players such as Jordan Henderson despite his struggles at Ajax.

Michael Dawson claimed that Gibbs-White would be baffled by his England omission, especially given his standout performances under Nuno Espirito Santo this season.

However, fresh updates have since emerged that may shed new light on the situation, as an injury has changed the circumstances surrounding the squad selection.

Morgan Gibbs-White replaces Cole Palmer in England squad after injury setback

Gibbs-White shared Nottingham Forest's announcement on Instagram confirming his call-up to the England squad ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.

Bellingham showed his support by liking the post, while teammate Elanga commented, "Only right!" and Neco Williams added, "About time".

His inclusion comes after Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca confirmed that Cole Palmer would not be available due to a muscle injury that required a scan, ruling him out of England duty after missing Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

His initial omission from the squad was met with surprise, given his crucial role for Forest this season. The midfielder has made 27 appearances, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 2,144 minutes. Of those, 25 have come in the Premier League, with Forest often resting him for domestic cup fixtures.

Gibbs-White has an impressive performance against Ipswich on 15 March, seemingly sending a message to Tuchel. Now, with his chance in the England squad, he has the opportunity to prove himself once again.
