Jude Bellingham has gone level with Lionel Messi in Champions League goal contributions for players aged 21 and under.

The midfielder assisted both of Rodrygo’s goals in the first half of Real Madrid’s league phase clash against Red Bull Salzburg.

His efforts have extended his Champions League goal contributions tally to 24, dong so aged 21 years, six months and 24 days.

Bellingham sits on 11 goals and 13 assists in Europe’s elite competition, with the total the same as Messi’s (17 goals, seven assists) when he was aged 21 or younger.

The Argentine footballing icon, who won four Champions League title, scored 17 goals and assisted another seven for Barcelona.

However, their tallies are beaten by the respective Madrid and Manchester City stars Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

The former hit 37 contributions before turning 22 years old, whilst the latter reached 26.
