Tottenham Hotspur are currently flying high and will go into Sunday’s Premier League encounter on the back of five consecutive wins.

Spurs were blowing hot and cold and suffered a morale-damaging defeat in the North London derby, but appear to have turned a corner.

Tottenham were at their rampant best away at Manchester United last weekend and have also seen off Coventry, Qarabag, Brentford and Ferencvaros.

Now, Spurs have another away trip on the cards, heading to the Amex Stadium to face Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls in a 4:30pm kick-off.

Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle, who was covering the Ferencvaros game on TNT Sports, has shared what he feels Spurs must sort out ahead of the Brighton game.

Glenn Hoddle says Tottenham must stop allowing opponents to have so many chances

Hoddle believes Tottenham need to tighten up and limit their opponents when they’ve got the ball.

The Spurs icon says it’s all well and good that Spurs get a lot of chances, but they can’t keep giving their opposition so many opportunities.

“Whoever Spurs are playing, they’re getting too many chances, even back to that Coventry game,” he said, as transcribed by BBC Sport.

“They’ve just got to look tight. It’s lovely going forward, but there’s two sides to football, when you’ve got it and when you’ve not got it.

“They’ve just got to sort that out if they’re going to go on and beat better opponents.”

Brighton v Tottenham team news

Brighton quartet James Milner, Brajan Gruda, Joel Veltman and long-term absentee Solly March could all be in contention for Sunday’s match.

However, the Seagulls will still be without Joao Pedro, Matt O’Riley and Jan Paul van Hecke, while Simon Adingra remains a doubt.

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min is likely to be absent again for Sunday’s visit to Brighton with a muscle issue, but Destiny Udogie should be available.

Wilson Odobert and Richarlison remain sidelined, while Djed Spence, who is not registered in the Lilywhites’ European squad, will be available again.
