Arsenal forward Kai Havertz took to social media to let the fans know they will “continue to work and fight together,” after their 2-2 Premier League draw with Aston Villa on Saturday (January 18).
A shot from Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino deflected off Havertz and past Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez late in the clash, briefly making it 3-2 to the Gunners before the goal was ruled out after a lengthy VAR check.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins surprisingly admitted he felt like the goal should have stood.
Watkins said: “Seeing it back there I am not sure, think it's gone in favour for us, if that was against me I think I would be disappointed. From that angle I'm not sure but that's what VAR is there for.
Arsenal went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Havertz before Youri Tielemanns and Watkins restored parity and ensured the spoils were shared.

Arteta’s attention will then return to the Premier League on Saturday (January 25) for their trip to relegation-threatened Wolves.
