Kasper Schmeichel sends 'perfect' message to Celtic fans

Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has taken to social media to celebrate “Perfect way to spend Boxing Day” after their 4-0 league win over Motherwell.
The 38-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Brendan Rodgers’ side went 12 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League table.
Arne Engels opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Hyun-Jun Yang went down under pressure from Motherwell goalkeeper Aston Oxborough.
Daizen Maeda then doubled Celtic’s lead in the 57th minute with a diving header from a corner before Nicolas Kuhn made it 3-0 soon after.
Midfielder Reo Hatate then rounded off the scoring with a well-placed long-range effort in their penultimate home game of 2024.

The Denmark international has been key for Celtic since joining in the summer, playing all 2460 minutes over the Glasgow club’s 27 games across all competitions, conceding 20 goals, and keeping 17 clean sheets in the process.
Schmeichel took to Instagram after the 4-0 win over Motherwell to celebrate, notably posting after Rangers’ 2-1 defeat to St. Mirren saying: “Perfect way to spend Boxing Day. Merry Christmas everyone.”
Celtic will host bottom-placed St. Johnstone in their last game of 2024 on Sunday (December 29) with the visitors winless in their last five games.
January kicks off with the big one, a trip to arch-rivals Rangers on January 2nd as they seek to extend their lead at the top.
