Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has revealed Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos will arrive in Istanbul in the early hours of tomorrow morning, ahead of his proposed move to Fenerbahce.

The Brazilian central defender is on the verge of a transfer to Fenerbahce following reports in the past few days an agreement has been reached between the two clubs and the player’s camp.

According to the Sabuncuoglu, Carlos' plane is scheduled to arrive at Istanbul Ataturk Airport at 1.30am on Tuesday morning. As expected with all major signings heading to the Turkish champions, he will be greeted by Yellow Canary fans.

Earlier today we covered reports from Turkey that the Aston Villa playing was flying to Turkey to complete his move to Fenerbahce. The 31-year-old will undergo a medical and then be officially announced as a Fenerbahce player.

At the weekend there were reports Aston Villa have accepted Fener's offer of €13m and that Carlos accepted an annual salary of €4m.

Carlos has struggled to get regular game time with Aston Villa and despite a long-term injury to Pau Torres he's still not been selected in recent weeks.
