Liverpool have won eight of their nine games in all competitions under Arne Slot and are playing some fantastic football currently.

In their previous encounter – which was in the UEFA Champions League – they comfortably dispatched Bologna 2-0 at home courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah and Alexis Mac Allister.

Things couldn’t be better on and off the pitch for Slot, who has quickly endeared himself to the Anfield faithful after replacing Jurgen Klopp at the helm.

There have been a handful of standout players like Salah – who has continued to score goals for fun – and Virgil van Dijk – who has been imperious at the back, but Liverpool fans on X have identified who their best performer has been this season.

Ryan Gravenberch has started every game in the Premier League and the Champions League and has delivered a string of magnificent performances in midfield for Liverpool.

The Dutchman endured a lukewarm first season at Anfield after his £35m move from Bayern Munich last summer but has taken his game to another level under Slot and has made the number six position his own.

After his recent display against Bologna, fans were full of praise for him on X as they hailed him as Liverpool’s most consistent player this season.

One fan wrote ‘I genuinely don't think I've seen a player improve so much from one season to the next like Gravenberch has this year.’

‘He's gone from someone I wasn't fussed about to playing at a world-class level almost every week. He's insane.’

Another one added ‘Really running out of words to describe Gravenberch, it’s been a privilege to watch him play football this season.’

Another Liverpool fan jokingly claimed Gravenberch might just be the best footballer in the world currently as he continues to thrive under his compatriot.

And finally, another fan pointed out just how quickly the Dutchman has become a fan favorite after being labelled as a flop a few months ago.

What next for Gravenberch?

To continue what he is doing for club and country – simple as that.

The 22-year-old is finally getting regular game time under his belt for Liverpool and the Netherlands and is enjoying every minute of the 2024-25 campaign.

Virgil van Dijk described Gravenberch as an ‘exceptional’ player after the previous international break, which is a huge sign of approval from his captain for club and country.

If he carries on playing like this, the sky is the limit for the Ajax academy graduate, who finally looks like he could well realise his outrageous potential.
