Tottenham Hotspur have made it five wins in a row in all competitions as they ran out 2-1 winners over Ferencvaros in the Europa League.

Spurs have very much turned a corner in recent weeks and are now in great form as they took another step towards qualification for the next round of the Europa League.

Tottenham opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Pape Matar Sarr, who made no mistake from close range after a Mikey Moore pass was ricocheted into his path.

Spurs then made it 2-0 in the 86th minute as Brennan Johnson got his fifth goal from five games.

The £70,000-a-week attacker coolly slotted in off the woodwork after great work from Dejan Kulusevski.

Although Ferencvaros set up a nervy finish through Barnabas Varga’s 90th-minute strike, the Lilywhites held on for yet another victory.

Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle liked what he saw from Johnson and Kulusevski for Spurs’ second goal, and was eager to praise both players on TNT Sports.

Glenn Hoddle hails Dejan Kulusevski run and Brennan Johnson finish

Hoddle said, as transcribed by BBC Sport: “This is a great run from Kulusevski, just creates the space for Johnson.

“Doesn’t try to hit too hard, goes for placement, just caresses it into the corner. A wonderful finish.”

What next for Tottenham?

Spurs are next in action on Sunday, with a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion for a 4:30pm BST Premier League kick-off.
