Liverpool will have to plan for life without Mohamed Salah next season.

Salah is out of contract next year and he admitted that he’s treating this season as if it’s his last, so clearly Liverpool chiefs should be identifying potential targets to replace him.

The Egyptian wide player is considered one of the best players in the world as amplified by his outstanding goal record.

So quite clearly, The Reds need to bring in a ready-made world class player, in the event he leaves.

Liverpool should try to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid

Real Madrid wide player Rodrygo has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the Spanish press in recent weeks.

The Brazil international’s future has been thrown into doubt following Kylian Mbappe’s arrival but Carlo Ancelotti has been quick to dismiss the suggestion that he could leave.

Anyhow, if Liverpool were to launch a bid for Rodrygo, it could turn his head given he’d be handed a starring role on Merseyside, rather than in the shadow of Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

The 2001-born winger can operate on either flank and would be the ideal Salah successor.

Rodrygo statistics

Rodrygo, who has been labelled ‘world class’ per All Football, has put up some outstanding numbers over the last few seasons.

The 23-year-old netted 17 times whilst laying on nine assists last term and started 12 of Real’s 13 Champions League games, including the 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund in the final.

For Brazil, Rodrygo scored seven in 29 outings, which is a commendable record considering he’s not always given the starring role.

If Liverpool were to hand him the stage to shine, the sky’s the limit for the £99m-rated attacker.
