Liverpool stars Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah signing new contracts will be the Premier League’s two biggest deals in the January window.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson admitted the writing is on the wall about Trent Alexander-Arnold joining Real Madrid next summer but he is emphatic about the right-back’s superstar teammates.
Liverpool are currently at risk of losing Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold on free transfers as they are all out of contract at Anfield in June 2025.
The star trio will be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides from 1 January, leaving some uncertainty for Arne Slot heading into the second half of the campaign.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football InsiderVan Dijk and Salah will both sign new deals on Merseyside.
Trent Alexander-Arnold to agree Liverpool exit
Robinson expects that announcement to be made in the next few weeks as Liverpool head into the new year sitting top of the Premier League table.
"The two biggest deals in this window will be Van Dijk and Salah signing Liverpool contracts," Robinson told Football Insider.
"I think there is too much noise around Trent and the writing seems to be on the wall about him going to join Real Madrid with how close he is with Jude Bellingham.
"The opportunity to go to Real Madrid doesn't come around very often, so that's looking more and more likely.
"But for me, by the end of January, we are talking about the two biggest deals that are done in January are Van Dijk and Salah signing new contracts."
