Liverpool beat Bologna 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, but the game wasn't as straightforward as the scoreline may suggest.

Indeed, Bologna actually had more shots than Liverpool on the evening, and the Reds had to dig deep to get the win here.

Liverpool had to work hard to win, but there was one player on the pitch who was making things look effortless.

Ryan Gravenberch was incredible against Bologna on Wednesday, and speaking on the BBC's Champions League highlights show, Thomas Hitzlsperger has been full of praise for the Dutchman.

Hitzlsperger says that Gravenberch was incredible against Bologna, claiming that he made the entire game look easy.

Ryan Gravenberch made it look easy

Hitzlsperger shared his verdict on the £35m Dutchman.

"It's not easy, but when you watch Ryan Gravenberch he makes it look easy. He's enjoying this season under Arne Slot for sure. He's that number six, the players are looking for him," Hitzlsperger said.

"That just shows his confidence at the moment. He has his back to the game and he still knows what to do. If I was a manager I'd tell him to be a bit further back sometimes, but Bologna offered that space. Quite impressive ad he made it look easy."

Ryan Gravenberch is evolving into something special

This is just the latest in a string of incredible performances from Ryan Gravenberch.

The Dutchman has been so good this season, and he's even drawn comparisons to Patrick Vieira from Tim Sherwood.

"He looks like a defensive-minded, responsible footballer, I think he has all of the attributes to play that number six role. It looks like he owns the pitch. You talk about breaking lines with a pass, he breaks lines with movement," Sherwood said.

"He has the whole package, when he needs to break it up he does, he controls the tempo of the game. Look at that, that is Patrick Vieira that.

"A big boy, six foot three, they've stumbled upon a defensive midfield player who is enjoying the role, I think they have a wonderful midfield.

Of course, Gravenberch has a long way to go before he's at Vieira's level, but he's certainly heading in a very promising direction.

The Liverpool midfielder could be on the path to superstardom if he continues to play in this way.
