Man City-bound Omar Marmoush bids farewell after confirmed transfer news

Man City target Omar Marmoush has seemingly said his goodbyes at Eintracht Frankfurt after the German club confirmed “talks” regarding a transfer.
The 25-year-old was left out of Frankfurt’s squad for their 2-0 Bundesliga win over Borussia Dortmund on Friday (January 17).
According to Florian Plettenberg, Man City will pay €75million (£63million) fixed for the Egypt international plus €5million (£4.2million) in potential bonus payments.
Frankfurt released a statement on X, formally known as Twitter, explaining why Marmoush was left out of the squad, saying: “Eintracht Frankfurt is currently in talks with another club regarding a transfer of Omar Marmoush. Therefore, the player is not part of the squad today.”
The forward has been in the form of his life this season, starting 24 of his 26 games across all competitions, scoring 20 goals, and providing 14 assists in his 2070 minutes of action.

Pep Guardiola’s side have seemingly turned a corner after a dismal end to 2024, winning three of their last five games across all competitions having previously won one, drawn two, and lost nine of their 12 games.
City’s frustrating 2-2 draw with Brentford on Tuesday (January 14) took the current champions within three points of the Champions League qualification spots.
Marmoush would add significant firepower to a side already filled with attacking talent, and with a deal seemingly close, he took to Instagram to send a message to the fans, saying: “Forever in my heart.”
City have four games remaining in January alone, including crucial Champions League ties against PSG and Club Brugge.
Guardiola’s attention will firmly be on their Premier League game with Ipswich on Sunday (January 19), however, as they seek to gain further ground on the top four.
