Mark Flekken injury latest after Brentford draw vs Brighton

Thomas Frank is unsure over the extent of Mark Flekken’s injury after Brentford’s goalless draw with Brighton on Friday.
The 31-year-old made several impressive saves in the first half at the Amex Stadium but was forced off after 36 minutes with a groin problem.
Brentford are now due to play Arsenal on New Year’s Day and Frank says Flekken will be assessed on Saturday.
‘On both Flekken and [Ben] Mee, we have no real update,’ Frank said after Brentford’s stalemate against Brighton.
‘We’ll know more tomorrow when we really assess them. Hopefully, the injuries aren’t too big.
‘I was pleased to see the way Hakon played. He showed great composure, he was brave in his area, he was good in the build-up – it was very impressive.
‘Him and Ji-soo Kim, on their Premier League debuts… I really enjoyed that. They came on and both showed that composure, I was very happy with that.’
Icelandic goalkeeper, Hakon Valdimarsson, who joined Brentford from Swedish side IF Elfsborg last January, replaced Flekken to make his Premier League debut.
‘It was unbelievable, it was really good, it’s always surprising coming on as a substitute keeper but a great feeling,’ Valdimarsson said after the game.
‘Coming into a fast game, first Premier League game, it’s quick, a clean sheet is so nice.
‘For me at half time was mostly speaking to Manu [Sotelo], the goalkeeping coach, to get into the things, set-pieces, build up, for me I was just preparing myself at half time.
‘It was great teamwork on the pitch, I don’t think we conceded too many shots.’
