Arsenal will look to bounce back from their disappointing Premier League weekend defeat when they face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The injury-hit Gunners haven't done as well as they would've hoped at this stage of the season, slipping to fifth in the Premier League table after some poor league results.

However, Arsenal remain in great form in the Champions League, with two wins and a draw to their name and the possibility of making it three wins in a row.

Arsenal team news v Inter Milan

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice will miss the trip to Inter due to a foot issue he suffered in the 1-0 loss at Newcastle.

"Declan unfortunately has picked up an injury against Newcastle," Arteta told reporters on Tuesday.

"It was a knock so it's a problem with his foot. He wasn't comfortable with it so at the moment he's not fit."

Defenders Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are also on the sidelines.

However, on a brighter note, captain Martin Odegaard has finally returned to training and could feature against Inter.

The Arsenal skipper had been out of action with an ankle injury picked up playing for Norway at the start of September.

Mikel Arteta unlikely to risk Martin Odegaard as Leandro Trossard drops out

With Rice ruled out of the game, Thomas Partey is likely to move back into midfield after playing at right-back against Newcastle.

Ben White could return at right-back, with Jurrien Timber keeping his place at left-back.

Meanwhile, no change is expected at centre-back, with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba keeping guard.

The midfield could be made up of Partey, Mikel Merino, and the impressive Ethan Nwaneri, who has surely earned himself a spot in a Champions League XI.

Although Odegaard is available once again, Arteta is not expected to risk him from the off.

As for the front line, Kai Havertz is expected to lead the line once again, with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka likely to be either side of him.

Rice and Leandro Trossard would be the players to drop out of the XI from the loss at St James’ Park, with White and Nwaneri coming in.
