Nottingham Forest kept a clean sheet away to Brentford and Matz Sels was to thank for his "absolutely magnificent" save, according to Michael Dawson.

Forest are the first team to beat Brentford at home this season with a 2-0 victory with goals from Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga.

They've had plenty of keepers coming in and out over the years, but Sels looks like one they got right, especially after his performance against the West London club and especially a save from Kristroffer Ajer to preserve the lead.

Dawson on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday had his say on the goalkeeper (4:20): “Nottingham Forest need to thank Matz Sels, what a save this is. This is absolutely magnificent, for him to keep it 2-0.

“Brentford since they’ve gone 2-0 behind it’s been one-way traffic. They’ve been knocking and knocking and unfortunately, they can’t blow that door down.

“A ball in from [Mikkel] Damsgaard to the back stick, [Bryan] Mbeumo heads it back across. Ajer from seven yards out, he drills it into the ground, straight above Matz Sels’ head. It might actually hit his head and goes over the bar”.

Sitting in and around the Champions League places would be a sweet sight for Forest fans. They are two-time winners of the European Cup, and it would be an incredible return, similar to Aston Villa's potential resurgence.

It may be early to think about Europe, but the hierarchy is set to back the club in January, which is more than Nuno Espírito Santo deserves.

The club is also making big moves behind the scenes, having managed to lure Edu away from Arsenal.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis has supported the team in previous transfer windows and has shown the ambition to push the club back into a European spot.

An impressive season with wins against Man United, Aston Villa, and now Brentford shows the club staying consistent, but we'll see if they hear the Champions League music next year.

In other news, a host of EFL clubs are ready to sign a Nottingham Forest player.
