Nottingham Forest are expected to pay Carlos Miguel’s release fine tomorrow, the Brazilian media says.

When last week, journalist Rudy Galetti claimed the clause was triggered, UOL journalist Bruno Andrade made sure to go public saying that actually never happened.

The reporter has returned to Twitter to say ‘everything indicates’ Nottingham Forest will do that on Monday.

Corinthians have a derby against São Paulo today, and it seems Carlos Miguel could therefore be having his farewell game in an important match.

There’s still a chance he could stay until the end of the month, but that will still depend on how the board and coaching staff will react. Andrade points out that the player already said he’ll be available.

Carlos Miguel had been mostly a bench player at Corinthians, and that’s why his release clause is just €4m. As soon as he took the starting spot, he managed to show his abilities and that’s giving Nottingham Forest the chance to sign him on a bargain.

The Reds reportedly beat West Ham United in the race, and the decisive factor was telling him he’ll have chances to play.
