One young talent is no longer leaving Leeds United – despite an exit appearing to be imminent.

Losing the Championship Play-Off Final to Southampton has completely changed the dynamic of the summer transfer window for Daniel Farke’s side, with sales now taking priority instead of reinforcements for the new Premier League season.

Those at Elland Road thought they were about to lose a young talent after already overseeing the sales of Marc Roca and others – although he will now return to Leeds after the deal collapsed…

Charlie Cresswell sees Leeds United exit collapse

Charlie Cresswell has now seen his proposed move to Toulouse collapse.

The 21-year-old Leeds United talent was expected to sign for the French club, and had even travelled to Toulouse for a medical.

However – according to Graham Smyth, Chief Football Writer of the Yorkshire Evening Post – the deal is now “off” after the deal broke down on the player’s side.

Smyth stressed that the deal did not fall through because of anything between Leeds and Toulouse.

He wrote: “Charlie Cresswell’s move from Leeds United to Toulouse is off. Seems to have fallen down after Cresswell’s trip over there, rather than a club negotiation thing.”

The Leeds No.5 made five Championship appearances last season, and despite having a contract which runs until July 2027, he is surplus to requirements under Farke.

Archie Gray deal still on

As one Leeds academy graduate returns to Yorkshire, another is still on his way out of Elland Road.

According to several top sources – such as The Athletic – Archie Gray is expected to join Tottenham after the north Londoners hijacked his £35m move to Brentford.

TBR Football understand that Joe Rodon – who spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Leeds – will be joining the Whites on a permanent basis as part of the deal.

Gray has even undergone a part of his Spurs medical already.

Be sure to keep an eye on that situation, as Tottenham could announce the 18-year-old’s arrival shortly.
