"On Tyneside for while yet" – Agent says Newcastle United player won't dump contract unless for big offer

Miguel Almirón is unlikely to leave Newcastle United any time soon, unless it's in exchange for big wages.
That's according to his agent Daniel Campos, who has continued to insist that there's no transfer on the cards for the Paraguayan in comments relayed by Soy del Millo.
Almirón has been consistently linked with a move from Newcastle since the summer, when he was the subject of interest from MLS.
He ended up staying at St James Park but has barely featured under Eddie Howe so far this season, increasing speculation he could be on the way in January instead, particularly as it would help with PSR issues.
River Plate are known to be interested in him and a report earlier this month stated they had already seen a bid rejected for the 30-year-old.
His agent has since been talking about a potential transfer, insisting that Almirón wants to stay at Newcastle and fight for his place there.
That's a line he's continuing to push, insisting that his client will be remaining on Tyneside for a while yet unless there is a big money offer to change that.
"So, it looks like he has another two and a half years left on his contract with Newcastle United and that, unless some other club makes a significant offer, with commensurate wages, he will stay on Tyneside for a while yet," he said when asked about the winger's future.
That, say Soy del Millo, puts another nail in the coffin for River Plate, with Newcastle asking for $20m at this point in time. Thus 'it seems impossible' for him to end up moving, unless he and the Magpies have a change of heart.
